Thailand is being watched by media around the globe again because of turmoil in the country.

This weekend saw continued violence in the country after a month long standoff between the Thai government of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and the many Red Shirt protesters. In fact there are hundreds of thousands of them.

Most of the violence began when Prime Minister Abhisit issued an order for the Army to clear demonstrators from the streets. He told the Thai Army to use non-lethal force but things got out of hand.

The battles left 21 people dead and over 800 injured in the worst political violence Thailand had witnessed in 30 years. We can only hope things calm down soon and an arrangement is made.
