Didn’t go through a full list of “This Day in Politics” today but I thought I would mention that in 1984, the Bhopal Disaster happened. This is where a methyl isocyanate leak from a Union Carbide pesticide plant in Bhopal, India, killed almost 4000 people and injured several hundred thousand other Indians. It was reported that 6000+ of those injured would later die. It was one of the worst industrial disasters in the world’s history. A pretty sad day indeed.
