Apparently David Cameron likes old people again. This, according to a Times Online article saying that he may have changed his stance on the Conservative’s stance that they would raise the retirement age in the UK to 66.
Now Cameron is insisting that he had only authorised a review into the issue. He claimed that 2016 was the earliest that changes would take effect and moved to ease the concerns of women, telling them that they would not be subjected to a sudden jump in their retirement age.
The unfortunate thing is that after making a nice token gesture to the elderly, Cameron was seen fencing a very old man. I don’t know what Cameron was thinking – this is going to be a public relations nightmare for him.
