Manchester United and Ecuador Midfielder Antonia Valencia is nearing a return to first team action.
The attacking winger has been out of action since September after breaking his ankle in action for United.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has stated that Valencia is on course to make his comeback, and should be back in action soon for the Premiership leaders.
“Antonio has done a full week with the reserves doing non-contact work,” stated Ferguson.
“Everything is right about him. We would hope he would get into contact work with the reserves and join us by the end of next week.”
Valencia joined Manchester United in the summer of 2009 when Ferguson was attempting to fill void’s left by Carlos Tevez and Christiano Ronaldo.
Ferguson signed Valencia from Wigan Athletic for £16 million, and he looked good value for money before his injury.
Valencia was a regular goal scorer for United, with his old fashioned wing play making him an instant hero at Old Trafford.
United hope to have Valencia ready for his first team return in early March.
