AC Milan stalwart Clarence Seedorf has singled out the threat of fellow Dutchman Rafael van der Vaart as being Tottenham’s main danger man ahead of the Champions League clash at the San Siro tonight.
Spurs travelled to Italy for the first leg of their last 16 clash against AC Milan, having topped the group in their first ever Champions League season.
Spurs main threat Gareth Bale is out injured, but Seedorf see’s van der Vaart as posing the single biggest threat to his team in tonight’s game.
“I see Van der Vaart as the main threat in the Spurs game,” said Seedorf.
“We are obliged to stop him, to prevent the forwards receiving many dangerous balls.”
Seedorf is confident of Milan progressing, “Milan are in a good moment for this round against Tottenham.
“Now our challenge is to win, to fly to London with a high percentage of progressing.
“Tottenham is not Man Utd or Chelsea, but as an English club, as always, it will be difficult.
“Spurs have had a big first phase in Europe, but now is the key moment for the season.
“For me Milan remains the favourite but the second match is away and we need to try and keep them goalless, also as we are favourites there will be less pressure on them.
“The team with the least nerves will get through to the quarter-finals.”
