Manchester City dropped two valuable points away to Birmingham. Mancini’s men were 1-0 after only four minutes through Captain Carlos Tevez, before Zigic pulled one back for Birmingham on 23.
Tottenham kept up the pressure on the top four with a hard fought 1-0 win against Blackburn at Ewood Park.
England international Peter Crouch scored the only goal of the game after four minutes to keep Harry Redknapp’s men in the race for fourth place.
Man City then went back in front when Kolarov fired them into a 2-1 lead right before half time.
Alex McLeish’s men failed to give up though, and were rewarded in the 77th minute, when Craig Gardner fired home from the penalty spot to share the points.
West Ham secured three vitals points tonight following an impressive 3-1 away win at Blackpool. Avram Grant’s men were boosted by the debut of Robbie Keane, and the Irish man made an immediate impact.
West Ham opened the scoring in the 24th minute through Victor Obinna, and were 2-0 up less than ten minutes later through debutant Robbie Keane.
Charlie Adam brought one back for the Seasider’s in the 42nd minute and appeared to have given Blackpool a chance, before Obinna got his second right on the stroke of half time.
Avram Grant’s men hung onto their lead to gain three valuable points in their battle with relegation.
Liverpool won their third premiership game in a row for the first time this season, courtesy of the free scoring Raul Meireles, and debutant Luis Suarez.
Liverpool took the lead through Meireles right after the beginning of the second half. Kenny Dalglish’s men were 2-0 up with 10 minutes to go when, Suarez was put through on goal and finished to secure victory for Liverpool.
There may be a hint of an own goal off Stoke defender Williamson, but Suarez is definitely claiming it.
Bolton ran out winners at home to Wolves but left it late, after on loan Chelsea striker scored right at the end to secure victory for Owen Coyle’s men.
Mick McCarthy’s Wolves now find themselves bottom of the league following West Hams away win at Blackpool.
