Samir Nasri has provided Arsenal with a timely boost ahead of their Champions League clash with Barcelona on Wednesday by returning to training today.
The French international has been out with a hamstring injury sustained during Arsenals FA Cup win over Huddersfield at the end of January.
Nasri’s training performance prompted Arsene Wenger to include the midfielder in his squad for the game at the Emirates and will provide the team with a major boost.
Nasri has been one of Arsenals best performers this season and he would have been greatly missed.
Arsenal will also welcome back Tomas Rosicky but Abou Diaby hasn’t recovered from the calf injury he sustained playing for France last week.
“Samir is in the squad and the starting line-up will be decided tomorrow,” said Wenger.
“I will take no medical risk. It’s good to have him in the squad.
“He’s recovered quicker than expected. I said it would be 21 days but it will be only 17 days.
“Everybody is absolutely adamant that he’s completely medically available. It’s down to me to make the decision.
“Rosicky is available. He is in the squad. Diaby is out with a calf problem he did with the French national team.”
