Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is confident his side will secure some silverware this season, as he approaches an important period that will decide how their season ends.
City face Aston Villa at home in their FA Cup fifth round tie tomorrow, and will play Reading in the quarter finals, should they make it that far.
They are also ten points behind United in the league, but are well set in the Europa League as well.
Mancini believes his team stand a good chance of ending the clubs long run without a trophy this season
“At the moment we have a big chance of winning something at the end of the season,” he told Sky Sports News.
“If we can get through the next 20 days… these next 20 days are very important.
“We play against Aston Villa and next week in the Europa League.”
He also added that City weren’t thinking about the length of time without a trophy, and didn’t need any added motivation.
“I don’t think it is an extra motivation. Our extra motivation is to build something important for the future and to win something,” he added.
“After we win one trophy I think that we will win more in the future. This is important for our team.”
