Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has revealed he still isn’t getting through to Mario Balotelli.
The sulking forward has all the ability in the world, but his attitude and poor work rate frustrate everyone who works with him.
Even Jose Mourinho left him to rot in the reserves when he was playing for Inter Milan, and failed to get through to the striker.
City spent £24million on the 20 year-old, who made his debut for Inter at 16, but the striker has shown no signs of growing up and regularly argues with the bench during games.
“He is not listening to me,” admitted Mancini. “I speak but I don’t think he listens.”
Balotelli has scored 10 goals this season, including two in the last tow games, but his all round game has been poor.
Mancini doubts the goals have anything to do with his management of the player, but says he’ll keep picking him if he keeps scoring.
“It is not important that he doesn’t listen to me,” Mancini continued.
“What is important is that he does well, that he scores.
“But I know he can do better because I know his quality. He can change every game if he wants. He could score in every game.
“I hope, for him and us, he can understand this very quickly.”
