Premiership managers have wasted little time in their attempts to bolster their squads for the lucrative end of the season.
In the biggest story of the window so far, Beckham has arrived at Tottenham’s training ground today where he will undergo a medical for a brief stint at the London club.
It is expected that Beckham will only participate in training and will return to LA Galaxy for pre season training in the first week of February.
Sources close to Beckham say the former England Captain is still optimistic of playing for Spurs, and as always with the Beckham circus, never say never.
Another premiership legend has also returned from the States during the American off season. Thierry Henry has returned to Arsenal to train and prepare for the US pre season.
Birmingham City have proved to be the busiest club so far, with David Bentley undergoing a medical at the club today, and winger Sebastian Larsson in talks to join Newcastle as he is out of contract in the summer.
There is no developments yet on Robbie Keane’s proposed switched to Birmingham, while Aston Villa have had a £2 million bid for Charlie Adam rejected by Blackpool.
Wayne Bridge has 48 hours to mull over a move to Aston Villa, with West Ham also interested in the out of favour Man City player.
West Ham and Blackburn are rivalling Birmingham for the capture of Argentine prospect Pablo Mouche, while West Brom have been given permission to speak to out of favour Villa striker John Carew.
Finally, Inter Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari appears to have snubbed a return to the premiership, as he has rejected Sunderland’s offer of a move to the club.
