Cristiano Ronaldo has been single handily carrying Real Madrid’s title charge this season, and has now scored 65 goals for the club in just 64 games.
So what’s the answer to his stunning form? Some claim it’s the new found responsibility of being a parent. Having sprung the huge surprise on the entire world that he had become a father in July last year, Ronaldo has gone from strength to strength on the field.
Whilst no one knows who the mother is, some reports have suggested she is a 20-year-old British lady who has allegedly been paid upwards of £10million to give up any parental rights and the child now lives with Ronaldo and his partner of one year Irina Shayk, a Russian underwear model.
Ronaldo told Spanish sports paper Marca that he even changes the nappies. “Of course I change the nappies. It’s not the thing I like best in the world, but I do it.” Said Ronaldo, before going on to say he hoped his son would one day follow in his footsteps and become a professional footballer.
Ronaldo often dedicates his goals to his son, sucking his thumb and pointing up to the executive box in the stands where his mother and girlfriend sit to watch him play.
Just last week it was revealed that Ronaldo is the world’s best paid footballer, raking in over £10million a year in wages alone. At over a goal a game and with a seemingly settled life at home, it’s no wonder why Real Madrid broke the bank to make him the world’s most expensive footballer.
