Andres Iniesta has admitted that Spanish Champions Barcelona aren’t invincible, and is very wary of the threat that Arsenal possess.
Barcelona knocked Arsenal out in the quarter finals last season, before a certain Jose Mourinho came and parked the plane at the Nou Camp after a first leg win at home, and knocked them out.
Barcelona won 6-3 on aggregate last time round, but lost a 2 goal lead at the Emirates after dominating the first 70 minutes, and then went 3-2 down on aggregate at the Nou Camp before Messi finally saw them through.
Many see Barcelona as the best club side in the world, and before the teams 1-1 draw at the weekend, had won 16 games on the trot.
Iniesta called for caution, saying, “We are not a machine. It won’t be easy. This isn’t a walk along the promenade for us.
“But Barcelona never take the field looking to be arrogant. That would be an enormous error.
“People speak about the matches last year but things are completely different.
“No two games are ever the same and we are aware Arsenal will be very motivated this time. That makes them even more dangerous.
“Barcelona aren’t invincible and going to London is risky.
“We can win the first match but we face a battle to stop Cesc Fabregas and a team which will want to show its very best against us.”
Arsenal skipper and Iniesta’s Spanish world cup winning team mate Cesc Fabregas was linked with a summer move to the Nou Camp, but Arsenal turned down their approaches.
He said: “The future of Cesc depends on the teams and we accept their decisions. For now he is the leader at Arsenal but we are not obsessed about him.
“The Gunners have an excellent squad and it will be an error for us to forget about the others.”
