Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that star midfielder Gareth Bale is 50/50 for their clash against Italian giants AC Milan.
The Welsh man is battling to be fit for Champions League encounter on Wednesday after he suffered stiffness in legs during the preparation for the visit of Milan.
Bale was a surprise second half substitute for Spurs during their three all draw against Wolves on Sunday which suggested he may be fit to start against Milan.
However, Redknapp confirmed that the winger is ‘touch and go’ for the game on Wednesday.
“Gareth trained this morning, he still felt a little bit stiff” stated Redknapp.
“His back was okay but he felt a little stiff in his legs so we will wait until tomorrow to see how he is.
“It’s touch and go. At the moment it would be doubtful whether he would be fit to start.”
Spurs go into the clash leading 1-0 on aggregate from the first leg but will need all the key personal they can get to protect their lead and progress to the next round.
Redknapp is boosted by the return of Van Der Vart ahead of the game, who’s experience will be a massive boost for his side.
