It seems Gennaro Gattuso may have done his homework on just who he messed with at the San Siro last week.
The veteran Italian headbutted Spurs assistant manager Joe Jordan, who didn’t even flinch. The former AC Milan hardman has kept quiet since being headbutted whilst Gattuso has been handed a 4 match ban by UEFA.
Gattuso revealed he will not be travelling to White Hart Lane for the return leg, even as a spectator as he fears being slapped.
Gattuso would have missed the tie after picking up a third booking of the tournament in Spurs 1-0 win away at AC Milan, and has decided not to travel at all after doing his homework.
“I would like to go to White Hart Lane for the second leg but I have been advised not to,” Gattuso told a TV Show.
“I have been told there will be 37,000 people there just waiting to give me a slap, so I will stay in Milan.
“It was lucky Zlatan Ibrahimovic was not at my side when the confrontation with Jordan happened. If he had been, the fight would still be going on.
“When I went towards Jordan at the end of the game, he took off his glasses like he was ready for a challenge. He was screaming the ‘f’ word at me repeatedly.
“Then (Sebastien) Bassong came up and said, ‘Hey, you and me’. It went on in the tunnel where Bassong was trying to belittle me about my height. He was laughing at me.”
Even with 6ft 5in Ibrahimovic on his side, I doubt Jordan would have taken long to sort out Mr Gattuso.
