Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson hopes to welcome Ryan Giggs back to the first team for his sides difficult trip to Chelsea on Tuesday, after the Welshman missed United’s last two games.
Giggs sat out of United’s trips to Marseille and Wigan with a hamstring injury, but should train today and be ready for the game against last years champions.
United will have to play without Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans for the title deciding clash, but with Smalling and Vidic in such fine form, shouldn’t miss the pair too much.
Speaking to the clubs TV channel, Sir Alex said,
“Hopefully Ryan will train on Sunday. He’s coming on.”
“We might have a couple back for next week as well.”
United need to end a dismal run of form at Stamford Bridge if they are to extend their four point lead on Tuesday. They haven’t won at Chelsea since 2002.
Ferguson added: “It’s always a big game at Chelsea. We used to have a great record down there, but our record over the last seven years or so has been poor.
“We have to do something about that and that’s what Tuesday is about.”
