Tonight’s Euro League action sees the return of Kenny Dalglish to the European fold, as he takes his Liverpool side to Sparta Prague in the last 32 of the Europa League.
Dalglish won three European cups in his playing days for Liverpool, and has so far seen his team unbeaten in Europe this season.
There has been a dramatic change at the Merseyside club since King Kenny’s return as manager, and they will be keen to progress to the next round of the tournament after falling short last season.
However, Liverpool face a tough encounter against the Czech Republic champions, who have already seen off Italian side Palermo, and are unbeaten in their last three home European games.
Liverpool remain unbeaten in their last five away games, which saw them draw three of their group fixtures on the road.
Sparta Prague have not played a competitive game since December 15th, and also face a tough task in overcoming a rejuvenated Liverpool side.
Dalglish will be without his captain Steven Gerrard tonight as he is ruled out with a groin injury, as is defender Daniel Agger.
However Joe Cole has recovered from his injury in time for the tie, with free scoring midfielder Raul Meireles also fit to make the journey after shaking off an illness.
British record singing Andy Carroll travelled with the Liverpool squad, but he still remains absent through injury.
However, Dalglish has included 16 year old striker Raheem Sterling in his squad, and he could make history as the youngest Liverpool player in Europe should he be called upon.
Kick-off in Prauge is at 20:05.
