Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt has revealed that preliminary discussions about a new contract at Liverpool have been positive.
The world cup finalist has been a mainstay in Liverpool’s first team for several years now and is eager to stay with the club.
Having made over 220 appearances for the club since moving to Anfield from Feyenoord in 2006, Kuyt has become a fans favourite for his endless running and vital goals.
Kuyt is looking forward to a return to the good times now that Kenny Dalglish has taken over as manager.
Speaking the The People, Kuyt said, “My contract has one more season to go after this but there are things happening,”
“We have had some talks and I can only say it looks positive.
“I feel at home in Liverpool and I don’t want to leave here.
“It has been a difficult time for everyone at the club with the changes that have happened since last summer but now I can sense something good is happening – I think Liverpool are on the way back.”
