Spurs and England striker Jermaine Defoe is hoping to register his 100th Tottenham goal against AC Milan on Wednesday night.
Defoe scored numbers 98 and 99 against Wolves, and sit’s one shy of the magic three figures on both goals for Tottenham and Premier League goals.
Defoe had failed to score in the league before his brace against Wolves and has had a frustrating season, which has included an England hat trick, but several injury problems.
Defoe is hoping to take out his frustration on AC Milan as Spurs look to capitalize on their 1-0 first leg lead earned at the San Siro a fortnight ago.
He said, “If I score my 100th goal for Tottenham on Wednesday night there will be a reason why.
“I say that because I always believe things happen for a reason but it would be nice to do it.
“It’s been a long while since I scored my last Premier League goal. More than anything, it has been frustrating.
“As a forward when you are scoring goals, you are full of confidence and buzzing about. When you are not scoring your game changes, you start snatching at things or take an extra touch because you want to be so precise.
“But I’ve always tried to get into the right positions to score and I’ll never stop doing that and it was good to get the two at Wolves.”
