Champions League Preview: FC Copenhagen vs Chelsea

Ancelotti under pressure

Ancelotti under pressure

Chelsea travel to Denmark tonight to face FC Copenhagen, in what is realistically their last change of winning silverware this season.

Chelsea lie fifth in the Premiership and have conceded the defense of their Premiership title, and following their FA cup knockout defeat at the hands of Everton this past weekend, the Champions League is now their main chance of silverware this season.

Carlo Ancelotti has remained calm and defiant after coming under criticism in the wake of his sides poor season, and he will be aiming to relieve some pressure with a result in Denmark tonight.

Fernando Torres is expected to start for the Premiership champions tonight, and he also has a point to prove after coming under criticism following his poor start to the season.

Torres is expected to be joined by Nicloas Anleka, Essien, and Bosingwa in the Chelsea line up tonight.
Chelsea are without new signing David Luiz, and Yossi Benayoun as the pair are cup tied.

The London side will be reunited with old boy Jesper Gronkjaer, as he lines up for Copenhagen against his old side tonight.

The champions League has been earmarked by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich as a top priority in the past few seasons, and many football pundits believe that Ancelotti will have to deliver this season in the competition, or face a similar fate of former Chelsea boss Scolari.

Kick off at the Parken Stadion is at 19:45.
