Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has revealed he is desperate to add more winner medals to his cabinet and he hopes to start with the Champions League.
Cech added that he hoped his team’s 2-0 win away at FC Copenhagen would act as a kick start to their season which started will but has faltered of late.
The team currently sit 5th in the Premier League and are no longer in either the Carling or FA Cups but still hope they can cut down the 12 point gap Manchester United have built over them and try to retain their title.
United still have to face Chelsea twice, as well as Arsenal and Liverpool in four games that could shape the destination of this seasons title.
Cech told the clubs website, “The Champions League is a very good competition and it is a competition Chelsea has never won before. We want to go and win it.
“Recently things have not been going our way. We are behind in the league, we are out of the FA Cup and so this competition is what we are looking for. We want to go all the way and win it. This is our aim.
“Of course we are behind in the league, but we have to play Manchester United twice. There is a long way to go and everyone knows we are fighting for this trophy.
“And a win is always good for the confidence. Now we have seven days to get ready for the Manchester United game and we will try to close the gap in the league by winning that game.
“We are still very far behind. We will need a lot of luck for everybody else to drop points, but we will fight until the very last moment.”
