Scotland v Northern Ireland in the Carling Nations Cup

The new Carling Nations Cup continues tonight, when Scotland and Northern Ireland meet at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

Both teams will be looking for a good result tonight, as Ireland swept aside Wales 3-0 in the opening game of the new tournament in Dublin last night.

The two countries have not played at international level since playing out a goalless draw in August 2008.

Northern Ireland have been hit hard by injuries ahead of the game, with Johnny Evans, Kyle Lafferty, and Waren Feeney being the latest players to withdraw from the squad.

Manager Nigel Worthington should have Goal Keeper Jonathan Tuffey, along with; Rory McArdle, Stephen Craigan, Steven Davis and David Healy from Rangers, as well as Celtic’s Paddy McCourt and Niall McGinn available for selection.

Kenny Miller will captain Scotland tonight for the first time, and he will lead the attack on his own against the Irish.

Stephen Caldwell will replace his injured brother Gary Caldwell, and he will partner Christophe Berra in central defence.

Scotland are without their influential captain Darren Fletcher tonight, therefore, Morrison, Adam, Commons, Brown, and Naismith make up a five man midfield.

Scotland boss Craig Levin may hand debuts to Robert Snograss, Grant Hanley, Chris Maguire, and Mark Wilson tonight, as all four are named on the bench.

Kick off at the Aviva Stadium is at 19:45
