Barcelona have signed manager Pep Guardiola for another 18 months, with his old contract due to expire in the summer.
The Catalan club, hailed as the best in the world by many, have been led expertly by the former Barcelona player, and they opened talks with their manager earlier in the season.
Guaridola confirmed on Wednesday that we would sign a new deal and it was announced today that the contracts had been finalised.
Guardiola has recently been the target of speculation linking him to the Qatar post ahead of their first World Cup appearance in 2022 as hosts, although there is plenty of time before that will happen yet.
Vice President of Barcelona, Josep Maria Bartomeu told the club’s television channel: “The club is very happy with Guardiola and hopes he will go on for many years.”
