A few hours past midday trading on Friday the FTSE 100 was at 4849.92 with an increase of 44.17.
Biggest gains were being posted by Xstrata, Barclays, and Cairn Energy.

Meanwhile the US Stock Market was posting losses as investors react to the release of America’s report on June’s job numbers. There was a loss of 125,000 jobs, with the majority being temporary Census jobs. However, analysts have noted that the private sector is not creating jobs at a rate that was hoped for by economists.
