Fidelity China fund raises £166.25 million

Anthony Bolton managed Fidelity China Special Situations Fund today announced that it has managed to raise £166.25 million through a C-share offer.

The amount raised was the upper limit set for the fund and with that the Special Situations Trust becomes the largest listed company on the London stock Exchange offering exclusive exposure to China.

The trust now becomes the second largest listed investment company offering exposure to the emerging markets in the UK.

The Fidelity China Special Situations Fund was floated in April 2010 and had managed to raise £460 million through its initial public offering. That made it the biggest emerging market focused new issue to be listed in the London market in the last 20 years.
