The world’s biggest mobile phone network, China Mobile, announced profits after seeing more music and video downloaded.
The network has more subscribers than anywhere else in the world and put the profits down to this increase in data usage.
Net profit increased by 3.9% to 119.6 billion yuan, ($18.2bn) in 2010, and they also saw revenue increase by more than 7%.
Company chairman Wang Jianzhou warned, “Increasing mobile penetration in China will further intensify competition in the telecommunications industry.”
The network also revealed that they have now got 584million users, up from 493million in June.
They also announced plans earlier in the most to add capital city Beijing to their list of cities where they would provide a 4G network.
The new super speed network has already had trials in Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
