Approximately 1000 jobs are coming to Scotland over the next five years. As Scottish and Southern Energy and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries partner on green energy and green energy systems. The focus being offshore wind farms and electric cars.
Scotland has been very successful within the green energy sector so far, with 25% of all energy supply being supplied via green sources.
Although there are some concerns with environmental issues regarding wind farms and wave power, the Scottish government is confident that if a green energy solution can form around Glasgow, that region will flourish with it.
The relief in sight of new jobs coming to this area could not be more timely. Unemployment in and around Scotland is still very high and many experts believe this will be the last part of the UK to see recovery.
The partnership between Scottish and Southern Energy and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries was announced on Friday, July 16.
