Police have announced that they have charged the man in custody with the murder of Jo Yeates.
Dutch national Vincent Tabak, 32, who was arrested on Thursday, will appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Landscape architect Jo Yeates, 25, was found dead eight days after being reported missing from her home in the Clifton area of Bristol.
Her body was discovered on Christmas Day, three miles away from her home, next to a country road in Failand.
The post-mortem examination undertaken by the coroner revealed she had been strangled.
Greg Reardon, 27, who was in a relationship with Miss Yeates, reported his girlfriend missing on 19 December when he returned to their home after visiting family in Sheffield.
Yeates who is originally from Hampshire, disappeared on 17 December after having Christmas drinks with her work collegues.
Mr Tabak, was Miss Yeates neighbour on Canynge Road.
Earlier this week, BBC’s Crimewatch programme featured a reconstruction that was filmed tracing Miss Yeates last steps.
A number of public appeals for information have also come from her family members.
