The latest crop of rumours relating to the next Ipad have surfaced, as people speculate further as to what Apple will do to improve their tablet.

The Ipad 2 could be with us as soon as April, which is just one year on from the original device’s release. The latest batch of rumours are the most realistic and therefore could potentially be true.

The first rumour is regarding the new device’s display, which could have double the resolution of the original, up to 2048 x 1536. The Ipad2 would not have the retina display of the current Iphone and Ipod touch models, but would look stunning at 260dpi.

In order to deal with the upped screen resolution,  Apple would have to upgrade the processer chip and according to the rumours they have done just that. The new chip has roughly four times the capability of the GPU inside the current Ipad.

Other changes will potentially include the addition of an SD card slot for adding extra memory and putting videos and music on the device, however there has been no reports that a USB slot will feature. Front and back facing cameras, as seen in the Iphone 4 are also expected.

The original Ipad was launched at a Apple event in the January of last year, and was then released in April. A similar release date has been suggested for the new model, meaning that official news could only be weeks away.
