Actress Hayden Panettiere has urged the family of Amanda Knox to watch the movie they so vehemently oppose.
The actress says she thinks they’ll feel far “more relaxed” once they’ve seen the programme, which is due to be screened on 21st February.
The trailer for the film has not helped matters, as it shows a policeman suggesting she “orchestrated” the crime as part of a kinky sex game.
The film has been threatened with legal action if they go ahead and release, after Knox’s lawyers claim it may affect her appeal.
Heroes star Panettiere has urged the Knox’s to watch the show as she feels nothing will “sway” or “impact negatively” on court proceedings.
Speaking to ETOnline.com, she said, “It is very fact driven and Lifetime is great with doing things like that and fact checking. I don’t think there is anything in there that would sway an opinion or have any impact negatively or positively on her appeal.
“I think if the family saw it, they would probably be much more relaxed then they are about it now. Maybe the parents would. I don’t know if she would or not. I don’t know if that would be a good idea to have to relive the whole experience of it. That is up to her.”
