John pain – the Ex-managing Director of Supervision at FSA is set to join KPMG. Pain had left the regulator in January this year. He had, however announced of his decision to step down in last July, and will be joining KPMG as a partner in July this year, after the mandatory gardening leave period from FSA gets over.
KPMG’s centre of excellence in Europe – one of the three centres that monitor regulatory developments in financial services worldwide and headed by Giles Williams, will be welcoming Mr. Pain.
Pain spent 25 years in Lloyds Banking Group before joining the FSA. He had held the position of managing director in different divisions such Cheltenham & Gloucester, general insurance and the private banking division.
“As a senior figure at the FSA who has been deeply involved with major regulatory changes and innovations, and through his various industry roles including MD of Cheltenham & Gloucester, he has acquired a truly extensive knowledge of the financial services regulatory landscape – from both sides of the fence”, said Bill Michael – UK head of financial services at KPMG.
