Tom DeLay Former US House Republican Leader has been sentenced to three years in prison for his conspiracy charges.

The case that has been described by DeLay as a political vendetta has seen the former Texas senator convicted of conspiring to funnel corporate campaign contributions to legislative race, which violates state law.

The Texas jury found DeLay guilty of money laundering and conspiracy charges in November, five years after his resignation as House majority leader and the incident occurred.
