Rebecca Ferguson

It seems that everyone wins these days in the X Factor as Rebecca Ferguson signed a record deal. The singer is the fourth person to sign a deal after the current season, after winner Matt Cardle, One Direction and pint sized Cher all signed up straight after the show.

The Liverpudlian singer had arguably the strongest voice in the competition and has been signed up by Simon Cowells SyCo label, which also boasts JLS and Olly Murs as members.

JLS did well off the back of coming 2nd

Cowell had promised that all four act’s would get record deals, but Rebecca has been sweating on her future for over a month since the show finished, before finally signing the deal of her life yesterday.

Rebecca’s first album is expected to be recorded in a similar style to pop star Duffy.

She came second in this year’s competition but do you think she has what it takes to forge a successful career? Let us know below.

Rebecca should have won it, she was pure class best vocalist it was properly cause she was from liverpool that the final vote went for matt. Such a shame she was fabulous.

You only need to listen to her “amatuer” material from pre x-factor days to realise that Rebecca is an uber talented lady who will have phenomenal sucess worldwide. I seriously doubt that she has been “sweating” for a month over her future !!! ……more that she’s kept her head, when others around her have been losing theirs ! ….she didn’t just sign up the first offer that came her way, like a good little x-factor puppy ….she’s had a properly negotiated contract agreed with the RIGHT label. You’ll understand when you take delivery of the album of a decade – it’s in the post …..

I agree with Dale. I doubt she’s been sweating at all. I’m sure she has ensured she has the right contract. Matt had no choice, and Cher and One Direction would have snatched Cowells pen out of his hand and signed without even reading theirs. She hasn’t rushed in and I have also listened to Rebecca’s own stuff and she needs to be allowed to be creative in her own right. I can’t wait to buy her album.

Rebecca has 2 small children that she would not want to leave while touring. It’s probably a blessing that she did not win. She actually looked releived she did not win. The negotiation probably has something to do with travel. This way she gets to stay with her children and still have a recording career. Matt wanted to submerse himself in music therefore he servered all ties to girlfreind knowing if he won he would not be around. I’m sure they all had to sign a commitment contract. It insures that the winner can’t back out after winning. The winner has to tour, no joice in the matter it’s part of the package.

Here I am in the US, just saw her on youtube last week and can’t stop watching. I’m sure she’ll be a worldwide star and the fact that she has 2 small children isn’t going to stop her from touring…that’s part of the business, if she wants to promote her CD’s she will tour. They often take the kids with them, bring mom or someone to trust to babysit and make a holiday out of it.
