Strictly come dancer winners have made their relationship official following the end of the 12 week long dancing programme.

Kara Tointon and Artem Chigvintsev danced their way to the final which took place in December, but despite an on screen kiss leading to rumours of romance, they denied accusations fired towards them by fans and the media.

The ex Eastenders star appeared on This Morning that her and Artem spent Christmas and New Year together and that their relationship is looking positive so far.

27 year old Kara told this morning “We are an official item now yes! And we went to LA for New Year and that was lovely…I feel very lucky that I’ve met someone that I’m getting on so well with.

“Christmas was lovely and Artem spent it with my family and it was really nice. They all get on really well thank God!”

Despite the blooming romance, Kara recently revealed she had been unsure about her romance with her Russian dance partner at the beginning, claiming to be avoiding relationships following a painful breakup with her ex-boyfriend Joe Swash last year.

She admits to warning her co-winner of this, she said “I said to Artem at the beginning that I’m actually not dating for two years. And his reaction was ‘Oh that is a bit dramatic, isn’t it?’

But obviously being won over by his charm, Kara added “He’s just a real gentleman and I haven’t met one of those in a while.”

The couple were spotted hand in hand at the Royal Albert Hall recently as they attended the press night of Cirque du Soleil’s Totem.
