Hailee Steinfeld has revealed she still get’s “starstruck” when surrounded by other celebrities, despite being an Oscar nominee herself.
The True Grit star told Parade magazine that she got really nervous meeting the cast of The Social Network at a gala she was at recently.
“I’m definitely going, ‘Oh my God’ left and right,” she said. “I always get so starstruck.”
She continued, “I met [The Social Network stars] Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, and Armie Hammer at a luncheon. Ahhh! That was a good day.”
Steinfeld also revealed that her role as orphan Mattie Rose in True Grit was influenced by the 1973 movie Paper Moon. Paper Moon sees prostitute’s daughter, played by Oscar winning actress, Tatum O’Neal, go on a journey of self-discovery with an older grifter.
“Paper Moon with Tatum O’Neal was one of the first [films] that stood out to me. Her role in that was a bit of my inspiration for True Grit – she was so independent,” the 14-year-old pointed out.
Steinfeld is reported to be lined up to star in the sci-fi drama Forgotten.
