Former Beatle Ringo Starr and his band, All-Starr Band, played a four song set at a press conference where he announced a new European tour.
When asked the reason for touring again, Ringo admitted he was glad to be back on the road again. He said: “We were approached, ‘Would you like to do Europe?’ So why not? I do it because that’s what I do. This is still the dream unfolding from when I was 13.”
Starr joked that he had asked Paul Mccartney to join the band, promising him he could play two of his own songs as a part of his band’s set. Starr explained: “I ask Paul every time I put a new group together and I promise him two numbers like everybody else. And he always seems to be busy at the time!”
Therefore, it will only be Edgar Winter, Gary Wright, Rick Derringer, Richard Page, Wally Palmar and Gregg
Bissonette up on stage with Starr.
The All Starr Band European tour begins on June 4 and will go to Ukraine, Russia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Latvia, Poland, U.K., France, Czech Republic, Italy, Holland, Germany and Austria.
