Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt has told all wannabe dancers that they must be brave if they are to succeed in the industry.
The star, who is now a judge of Got To Dance spoke the Guardian newspaper about how important it was for young dancers to experiment with different styles.
“You have to be brave as a dancer, to try new things and tricks and be flexible – you have to be prepared to fall on your bottom or your head.
“It’s happened to me a lot and it happens to dancers all through their careers. I’m lucky in that I have a background in gymnastics, which helps, but showbusiness is live and anything can happen.”
She then added, Younger performers shouldn’t worry about it. You have to shrug off mistakes you make and get on with it – everyone expects dancers to fall over.
“I fell over a lot learning what became my signature dance move – the standing leg-split… You just have to get back up and brush it off in this business – onwards and upwards.”
