Former Beatle Paul McCartney proposed to his long-term girlfriend Nancy Shevell last weekend popped during a romantic candlelit dinner for two.
McCartney met his future wife four years ago shortly after his bitter divorce from Heather Mills and they have been dating exclusively ever since.
Shevell is a New York businesswoman, is divorced with one teenage daughter. Reacting to the news, a source close to Shevell confirmed: “They have the right chemistry. They’re both cool, chilled out and optimistic.”
The couple have been seen together many times at various events and on his tours. However, last Monday they were spotted together at a gala evening at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, but no ring was to be found.
But, McCartney’s spokesman Stuart Bell confirmed the proposal was indeed the real thing, declaring “It’s true!”
Paul McCartney’s first marriage to Linda Eastman lasted for 29 years up until she lost her battle with breast cancer in 1998. His second marriage to Heather Mills in 2002 shocked many, didn’t last long and ended in a bitter divorce six years later.
Let’s hope three is indeed a lucky number Sir Paul.
