A team of celebrities, including Dermot O’Leary and Loraine Kelly will trek across the Kaisut Desert in Kenya in aid of Comic Relief.

The stars will be joined by Kara Tointon, who won Strictly Come Dancing, and X Factor star Olly Murs among others as they make the tough trip later this month.

The celebs will have to cover 100km (62miles) in just five days of sweltering conditions.

Their exploits will be covered in a documentary to be shown in the run up to Red Nose Day 2011 on 18th March.

The team are expected to burn 8000 calories a day each, in what will surely be the most gruelling test of many of their lives.

Also taking part will be Ronni Ancona, Nadia Sawalha, Scott Mills and Craig David.

Just Dance for Comic Relief is also signing up stars, as Katie Price and Joe Swash are the latest pair to sign up to the show.

Noel Fielding, Lulu and comedian Marcus Brigstocke have also been announced as participants.
