My Chemical Romance won the Best International Band award and put in a stunning performance of their new song, Na Na Na, but it was U2 who stole the show.
My Chemical Romance, who come from New Jersey in the States also won Best Video for their new hit record.
More than 3.5million votes were cast by NME readers, as Arcade Fire won Best Album and Muse won best British band.
The nights biggest moment came when Glastonbury was awarded the Best Festival award for the third year running, and The Edge, U2’s guitarist, appeared to announce that the band would headline the Friday night of this year’s festival.
“U2 will be playing on June 24 and we’re so excited to get to play in front of the world’s greatest festival audience,” he said.
