Matt Cardle has revealed in a magazine interview that he was nervous when he took to the stage at the National Television Awards.
The X Factor winner, who hadn’t performed live since the X Factor final over a month ago, sang his Number one single, When We Colide, at Londons O2 arena, in front of hundreds of celebrities and fans.
Matt told New magazine, “I’m quite relieved it’s over. It brought me back to the whole X Factor experience with the whole live TV and massive audience.
“It’s only a month or so, but you get used to not doing it again. Of course I was nervous.
“You’ve got to be nervous when you do something like that or there is something wrong with you.”
Matt has also backed an internet campaign to get his best mate from the show, Aiden Grimshaw, a record deal with Simon Cowells label, SoCo, and is reported top have succeeded.
A source at the label said, This record deal is Aiden’s to lose.
“If he can keep the fans happy he’ll join his mate Matt Cardle as one of Simon Cowell’s chosen few.”
He will be the fifth star from the show to get a record deal after One Direction, Cher and Rebecca Ferguson have all been signed up since the show.
