Liam Gallagher has revealed there was no way Oasis could have continued without Noel.
The warring brothers were the centrepiece of one of the most successful British bands of a generation, but now don’t talk.
Liam had previously claimed they could carry on without him, but had now admitted that without him, it wouldn’t be the same.
The rest of the band have formed a new band called Beady Eye, but will refuse to play Oasis covers.
Liam said, “I just wasn’t going away quietly, I was being a bit stubborn… making everyone sweat a little bit, but we knew that Oasis couldn’t carry on if Noel wasn’t there. It would be weird playing his songs, it would be weird for the fans, plus it would be weird for us”.
Oasis were together almost 20 years before they split in 2009.
Liam also revealed that despite the brothers differences, he is looking forward to releasing Beady Eye’s first album, Different Gear, Still Speeding live and believes their new band is pretty much the most exciting thing around at the moment.
He added, “If you take Beady Eye out of the way, there’s not much else going on in the music business.”
