Britney could be sued for new single

Britney Spears could be facing legal action taken against her following the release of her new single, Hold It Against Me.

Seventies band The Bellamy Brothers are considering raising a case against the star for its “major similarities” to their 1979 worldwide smash single If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body, Would You Hold It Against Me.

The American country duo are unhappy with the similarities and have announced they are “weighing their options” as to whether to sue the star and her songwriters.

David Bellamy said “back in 1979, I wrote a little song called If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body, Would You Hold It Against Me.

“That little song went number one and has since become one of the defining songs of our career. If you listen to the lyrics of Britney Spears’ new single, Hold It Against Me.

Howard and I have no personal beef with Britney, she’s a talented girl. But professionally, well, in all honesty, we feel completely ripped off. Where’s the originality?”

Britney co wrote the single with Max Martin, who was partly responsible for many of her previous hits such as Baby….One More Time and (You Drive me) Crazy.

What do you guys think? we’ve added the two songs below.
