BBC Sound of 2011 winner Jessie J has lived up to the hype with her new single Price Tag entering the charts at number one.

It’s the first number one single for the artist, who also saw her album enter the charts at number two last week.

Her album, Do It Like A Dude, charted at number two last week and is now at number four. Adeles 21 remained at number one with Chase and Status number two in the album stakes.

Bruno Mars remained at number two with Grenade and Kesha fell two places to third spot with We R Who We R.

Jessie J will collect the Critic’s Choice Brit Award later this month, as she is deemed the artist most likely to make a significant breakthrough in the year.

The new single is the first of her record label, Universals new policy to release a song as soon as it starts receiving radio airplay.

She also has a song at number seven on the back of this policy, Do It Like a Dude.
