After being beaten by Brandon Routh to the Superman role in 2006 movie, Superman Returns, this is a sure victory for the up-and-coming actor.
Being the third British actor to be cast as a Hollywood superhero recently, the star is excited to start filming and ready to don the famous Superman costume.
Cavill, who was born in Jersey, follows in the footsteps of Christian Bale as Batman and Andrew Garfield, who is the new Spider-Man.
However, the film is to be directed byZa ck Snyder, who said in a statement that Cavill was “the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield.”
The new Superman movie has no title or release date yet but let’s hope it lives up to the original!
