American actress Halle Berry has pulled out of her latest film to devote all her efforts to fighting her custody battle for her daughter.
The Monster’s Ball star had been due on set to begin work on this year’s big romantic comedy, New Year’s Eve, which is based on New York.
The stars publicist said she had had to back out to concentrate on fighting the legal row, between Berry and her ex-boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, who is a supermodel in Canada.
The publicist did not say where the court case to decide two year old Nahla’s custody arrangements would be held.
It was thought that the pair would share custody, with Aubry asking a New York superior court in January to recognise that he would like to share custody of his daughter.
Aubry has gone on to date Kim Kardashian since the couple broke up in April 2010, just 13 months after their daughter was born.
Katherine Heigl will replace Berry in the film, which is hardly short of star names anyway.
Ashton Kutcher, Robert De Niro, Jon Bon Jovi, Sienna Miller, Sarah Jessica Parker and Lea Michelle are all set to star in the movie, which will be released later this year.
