Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow is set to follow husband Chris Martin into the top 40.
Chris, who fronts British mega band Coldplay, has been in the charts and sold millions of records, while wife Gwyneth is better known for being one of Hollywood’s hottest actresses.
After Paltow’s appearance on E4s Glee in the UK this week, three of her tracks were released to the public on iTunes, and two of them are in the top 40 midway through the week, as well as another just outside the top 40s.
Paltrow appeared at Holly Holiday, a substitute teacher who took over Glee club for a few days and covered several songs during her appearance on the show.
Her cover of Rihanna’s Umbrella and Singing in the Rain is currently at number 24, and her cover of Cee-Lo Greens hit Forget You has reached number 29.
Official Charts Company managing director Martin Talbot said: “The impact of Gwyneth Paltrow and the continuing Brits effect demonstrates how powerful TV can be in influencing music tastes and interests in the digital world.”
Adele looks set to retain her top spot, in both the singles and album charts, although it could all change by the weekend.
