Denise Van Outen has pulled out of hosting the new OK! Magazine show on channel five, only days before it is due to start.
The celebrity show is due to start on Monday and will replace Live from Studio Five as the channels daily entertainment program.
Van Outen released a statement saying the decision was down to Van Outen’s “other contractual obligations.”
The decision seems all the more bizarre as both Van Outen and the producers had been saying how much they were looking forward to working together just the day before the announcement.
Van Outen used her twitter feed to say she was “so excited about the new show” and the producers spoke about Van Outen’s new role at a press event.
The channel released a statement saying “both parties wish each other the best”
Kate Walsh, who presented live from studio five will now take over Van Outens role and join Matt Johnson as host.
Five said they were “delighted” Kate would be “stepping up” to fill Van Outens shoes, and continued, “We all know how fantastic and experienced Kate is following her time on Live From Studio Five and are delighted to have her on board.”
Van Outen’s spokesperson wasn’t available to comment.
