In a shock move, Cheryl Cole has been axed as a judge on the US version of ‘The X Factor’.
Insiders claim Fox management over-ruled Simon Cowell on whether or not to get rid of Cheryl, a move reportedly sparked by difficulties with American audiences understanding her accent.
Nicole Scherzinger is reported to be replacing Cole on the judging panel alongside L.A. Reid, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell.
Unfortunately, despite their great working relationship, Cowell chose not to tell her the bad news in person.
A friend of Cheryl’s said: “She is completed shocked and stunned. She never saw this coming. The fact Simon didn’t tell her in person hurt. She never thought he would do that to her.”
The Daily Mirror newspaper has reported Cheryl telling a friend: “I’ve been hung out to dry and I know who’s to blame. I’ve had no opportunity whatsoever to prove myself and instead they’ve just cast me aside like a fool.”
Many speculate that Cheryl will return to the UK version “The X Factor” alongside Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland and Louis Walsh – but the final outcome of this drama remains to be seen.
