Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones will finally collect her CBE after being named on last years honours list.
The actress from Mumbles, Swansea is married to Hollywood superstar Michael Douglas, but hasn’t been to collect her award because of his ongoing battle with throat cancer.
Douglas has been receiving chemotherapy for the disease and has now being given the all clear, meaning her can now join his wife on her trip to Buckingham Palace to collect her award.
Zeta Jones was bought up in Wales, and made her first major appearance on our screens in The Darling Buds of May on ITV, before going on to take Hollywood by storm.
She moved to Hollywood in 1996, and married Michael Douglas in 2000. The star also won an Oscar in 2003 for her supporting actress role in Chicago.
Zeta Jones will award the CBE, which stands for Commander of the Order of the British Empire, for her services to film, industry and charity.
Speaking last year after hearing the announcement, Jones said, “I am absolutely thrilled with this honour.
“As a British subject, I feel incredibly proud.
“At the same time, it is overwhelming and humbling. And my mum and dad are delighted beyond belief,” she added
