Crazy in Love singer Beyonce Knowles has announced that she will be headlining Glastonbury, playing last on the main Pyramid show on Sunday 26th June.
The 90 minute set is one of the most sought after in music, and marks the culmination of three days of music at the sold out festival.
The event sold out in hours, despite ticket buyers not knowing who was going to be playing at the event, and will cause controversy as her husband, Jay-Z did when he headlined the event two years ago.
Last year U2 were meant to headline the show, but had to drop out so Stevie Wonder and Gorillaz stepped in, although both went down well with the crowd.
Beyonce said: “This really is the biggest festival in the world and I cannot wait to perform there. Everyone who attends is really appreciative of music and is in such a good mood that entire weekend.
“I’m pumped just thinking about that huge audience and soaking up their energy.”
The singer is used to playing in front of large crowds, having ended her I am… world tour last year, after playing to 1.1million people.
